Lim Tse Xiong Brendan
Hey!
I am Brendan and I am a Year 1 undergraduate majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Aeronautical Engineering.
I have always been fascinated by the sciences, especially Astronomy, since young. That fascination only grew deeper after I joined NUS High. Moving into the later years though, I realized that all I worked with were purely theoretical, nothing applicable. I can pour through the data and determine the habitability of a distant exoplanet… but what use is a habitable exoplanet if we cannot put people on a rocket there? So, in my final year project I decided to do an engineering project on the feasibility and possibility of using a CubeSat to map out the levels of light pollution around the world.
I have dabbled a lot previously in Physics and Astronomy Olympiads – even was lucky enough to represent Singapore in the latter. Now I feel like putting that knowledge to good use which brings me to today.
The easiest way to grab my attention is to throw a science conundrum at me. Open to having a conversation about Engineering or Astronomy or even the Navy!
PS. If you cannot find me, I am probably enjoying the night sky somewhere on a random dark field.
