Hello! My name is Kyrene Chua and I am a year 1 undergraduate majoring in Computer Engineering with a Minor in Statistics. I am fortunate to be part of the Engineering Scholars Programme as it is a programme that allows students to reach their fullest potential and explore countless opportunities to better themselves.

I’ve always been fascinated by computers since young and so I’m very excited to be able to pursue my interest in university. During the holidays, I took up a part-time job in a pharmacy and saw how the pharmacists made use of computers and technology to improve the efficiency and accuracy of their workflow. Recently, I have been teaching myself some programming languages (definitely still a work in progress), and also taking the time to engage in my hobbies before school starts. You can find me running to the latest true crime podcasts, or jamming out to Michael Jackson while in the gym.

Pursuing Computer Engineering under the e-Scholars Programme is definitely a step out of my comfort zone, but I hope to grow into a highly skilled and efficient individual at the end of my journey in NUS.
