My name is Jimmy Chiun and I am currently a final year Mechanical Engineering undergraduate, specialising in aeronautical engineering. I am fortunate to be part of the Engineering Scholars Programme and able to experience a holistic education curriculum offered by the programme.
Currently, I am embarking on the design of a flapping wing micro air vehicle for my final year project. This would be one of the most rigorous project I have yet to undertaken and am looking forward to the opportunities in research and development of flapping wing aerial devices. I am also a certified Solidworks Professional and proficient in solid modelling. I am also deeply interested in artificial intelligence, especially aspects such as object and speech detection and enjoys taking part in hackathons. I believe the such advancements in object and speech detection would create opportunities that could serve as a pivotal pillar for Singapore growth into a smart nation.
